At the latest House of Helsinki autumn board meeting on October 24, board members and employees gathered to review and approve the 2025 action plan and budget for the organization, as well as elect board members for next year. Looking ahead, House of Helsinki will continue to develop two-way integration and volunteering activities, creating opportunities for connection and active participation in society. Below, we outline the board's objectives and vision for 2025.
2025 Key Objectives of House of Helsinki
Defining roles and responsibilities for board members.
Scaling and consolidation of the REFUFIN Project.
Upgrading House of Helsinki member services and expanding membership.
Thank you to each and every volunteer, employee, and partner organization for your dedication and hard work. Together, we've positively impacted the lives of over 700 people. Looking forward to all the good we’ll create together in 2025! — Artem Kuosti, House of Helsinki chairperson.
The REFUFIN project—our STEA-funded initiative providing support to individuals who fled the war in Ukraine and are now residing in Finland—will enter its third and final project year. The REFUFIN team, alongside trained volunteers, will keep up momentum by continuing to visit cities throughout Finland and making new partner connections. These outreach efforts are vital to increase visibility, build trust, and provide guidance to Ukrainians adjusting to life in Finland. The project team will also start to explore possibilities for scaling up or obtaining sustainable funding options to ensure the continuation of activities.
In addition to the REFUFIN project, House of Helsinki is exploring potential projects that could launch in 2025, depending on upcoming funding decisions. These projects will align with our mission to provide inclusive support to all immigrants and refugees in Finland.
